October 24 – 30, 2021 is Lead Poisoning Prevention Week. About 3.3 million American families have children under 6 years of age at risk of exposure to lead. They can face many barriers to ensuring proper health coverage, including language disparities, low literacy rates, and limited access to enrollment assistance in programs such as Medicaid and CHIP.
