Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) provide comprehensive health coverage , including dental care, to more than 39 million children up to age 19 nationwide. However, the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency caused many parents and caregivers to delay important routine care for their children, like regular dental check-ups. In this webinar, held during the 2022 National Children’s Dental Health Month, Dr. Natalia Chalmers, CMS’s Chief Dental Officer, and Dr. Jane Grover, Director, Council on Access, Prevention and Interprofessional Relations with the American Dental Association, discussed the current landscape of dental care among children. Other organizations presented strategies and tips to promote oral health care. Connecting Kids to Coverage National Campaign resources to promote dental health year-round, including social media posts and graphics, newsletter articles and text messages, were featured. All resources discussed in this webinar can be found on InsureKidsNow.gov.
