Back-to-School season is an opportune time to connect with families to share Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) enrollment information – and highlight key benefits like vaccinations, vision and dental care. It is also a key time to remind families about the need to renew their coverage once states resume normal eligibility and enrollment operations upon conclusion of the Public Health Emergency. Speakers from CMS, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, and the Virginia Health Care Foundation (VHCF) discussed the importance of vaccine outreach during the back-to-school season and strategies for outreach. This webinar, held in July 2022, also featured Connecting Kids to Coverage National Campaign resources available on InsureKidsNow.gov, as well as CMS’ Medicaid and CHIP Continuous Enrollment Unwinding Communications Toolkit to support partners and states in preparing for the unwinding of the Public Health Emergency.
